I recall a feeling of fear going down below the Old Church that summer (1976) and I think most of us kids did. I also recall being told it was best not to go down there for a while. Not that many of us followed that suggestion. My mind at least has an image of something, though not the daftness in the 'photo'. Some of us also helped to stir the rumor mill. The photo shown as proof of the account given here certainly looks like the path round to Prisk and Rosemullion Head, below the Norman 'Old Church', which has not changed to any extent in the near 45 years I have walked it, but the 'badly' shopped overlay and the vibrant popped colours of the woodland date this shot to post 2005 at best. I am inclined to believe the account, for the most part because I know so many of the places mentioned, however I suspect that the culprits failed to record their endeavors at the time. As regrettable, though understandable lapse in 1976.
